Fire at hotel in Bansko
A fire damaged the two upper floors and roof of the Chateau Vaptsarov hotel in Bulgaria’s winter resort town of Bansko in the early hours of January 14.
The hotel’s 19 guests, mainly from Serbia, Macedonia and the UK, as well as staff, were evacuated. No one was injured in the fire.
The reason for the fire has yet to be established. Theories include an electrical short-circuit or a blockage in a chimney.
