Sofia Startup Expo 2018: ‘Fighters and Founders’ programmes announced
The organisers of the first exhibition for startup innovative companies in Bulgaria have announced two new startup programmes for participants in Sofia Startup Expo 2018.
They are the Founders programme and the Fighters programme, both of which await potentially good business ideas in the Create zone of the exhibition.
The Founders programme is a programme specifically designed for startups which are in their early stage of development but which have great ambitions. Their creators will receive a work table, of two sq m, to present their ideas and will get access to a unique community programme which will connect them with the best entrepreneurs and resources.
“We support people with ideas – ‘The Founders’ – because we believe that diversity stimulates the innovations and new businesses,” said project manager Dimitrina Hristeva.
“We believe that everyone has the right to become an entrepreneur and that is why we want to give more people the opportunity to show what they have created by offering an extremely affordable package price for participation in the exhibition of just 290 leva, without VAT,” she said.
In her words, creativity, entrepreneurship, and the ambition to create a successful business should not face barriers, but rather be encouraged and stimulated to “get wings”. That’s why the slogan of the first Sofia Startup Expo is exactly that – “Give wings to your ideas,” Hristeva emphasised.
”The Fighters” programme is for those who have a deadly entrepreneurial mindset and business ideas with potential, but are not “born” in a privileged environment. It is aimed at pupils, students, associations of youth innovators. The Fighters programme is just like The Founders programme, but it’s free.
“It’s hard, ambitious, and demanding, as in order to be part of this programme the participants must present their ideas in the most fascinating and efficient way which will surely take them quickly to everything they need to bring their business to the market. We provide them with a free access to our Creative zone for the programme and resources at their first participation,” Hristeva said.

Sofia Startup Expo 2018 (SSE) is the first exhibition in Bulgaria for startup companies and new entrepreneurs which will bring together technology developers, innovation managers and investors to build partnerships and shape the future. The event will take place from March 13 to 14 2018, at the John Atanasov Hall at Sofia Tech Park, and will bring together the entire startup ecosystem needed to start and maintain a startup innovative business.
