What’s On: Voinegovtsi Wrong Fest, June 20-21
With the summer solstice just around the corner, The Voinegovtsi Wrong Fest is gearing up for its third edition this year. The solstice comes on June 21 2015 at 4.38pm UTC, right about the time when one of the 16 bands will be getting on stage at the festival area.
The two days of the event, the Right Day and the Wrong Day, will take place at Voinegovtsi, on the outskirts of capital city Sofia.
This year the indie festival, named after The Wrong Bar in central Sofia (18 Sheinovo Str.), features more foreign bands, delivering on last year’s promise to expand its reach abroad. This year the line-up has eight foreign bands from Europe and the US, compared to last year, when the line-up featured three bands from Macedonia and Greece.
In addition to bringing music and sun together, the festival also aims to boost Sofia’s image as a cultural destination and as a home for many talented underground artists, who largely remain unknown.
The festival venue will offer outdoor activities for all ages, food, beverages, a free camping area, organised transportation leaving from the Vassil Levski monument, a bicycle escort, a lounging area, and parking. The venue will provide a ramp and a platform for people with disabilities.
For the full list of the participating bands, visit the festival’s website, where you can also find a list of planned activities and useful advice.
Tickets can be purchased online at boxoffice.bg, ticketlogic.bg or at The Wrong Bar. Ticket prices are 40 leva (20 euro).
