Good news for Ukraine: IMF money, non-lethal aid coming
March 11 was a day of good news for Ukraine with the International Monetary Fund approving a $17.5 billion assistance programme and the US deciding to send military equipment to fight the Russian troops in the Donbas.
For a country in a de facto state of war that also faces a deep economic crisis, this is very essential.
The IMF board finally approved a $17.5 billion four-year loan under the Extended Fund Facility, of which Ukraine’s $5 billion will come front-loaded.
