Bulgaria improves slightly in Transparency International’s corruption perceptions index
Bulgarians see a slight improvement against corruption in the public sector in the past year, going by Transparency International’s annual corruption perceptions index – but the country still ranks less than midway on the global scale.
Bulgaria scored 43 on a scale from zero (highly corrupt) to 100 (very clean), Transparency International said on December 3 2014. In 2013 and 2012, its score was 41.
The country ranked 69th out of 175 countries in the 2014 index, but shared that spot with two neighbours, Greece and Romania, and four other countries – Brazil, Italy, Senegal and Swaziland.
