Poll favours opposition candidate in Macedonia’s April presidential elections

A public opinion poll by the Centre for Information and Research (CIG) has declared Macedonian opposition presidential nominee, Stevo Pendarovski, a favourite in the elections.

According to the survey, done among 2400 respondents, Pendarovski has a considerable lead over VMRO-DPMNE candidate Gjeorge Ivanov, who is standing for a second term in office.

“According to the results, Pendarovski may win even in the first round with 380 300 votes”, CIG director Ana Kanga said.

She said that Ivanov is losing popularity and his messages do not resonate with the media and citizens.
