Bulgaria’s Bansko opens 2025/26 ski season

Bulgaria’s mountain resort of Bansko opened its 2025/26 ski season on December 13, and for the first time in the modern history of Bansko all official events for the season start were held at 2600 m above sea level – at the top of the ski zone, the resort’s official website said.

As of December 13, the snow cover in Bansko is between 70cm at Plato and 140cm at Todorka Peak.

“The snowcat drivers of Ulen have worked hard to prepare the slopes in the high part of the ski area for the guests of Bansko.” Ivan Obreykov, marketing director of Ulen AD, said.

“We are expecting suitable weather conditions so that we can turn on the modern technological snow system to cover the terrain on the other slopes. As you know, low temperatures and low humidity are required for this purpose,” Obreykov said.

As of December 13, the open slopes are 3, 11 (Plato) and 4 (Banderitsa 2 – only above the middle station of the lift). The situation is constantly changing depending on weather conditions.

Starting on December 14 the price of the daily lift passes for adults will be 65 leva (33.23 euro) a day for adults.

For full information on prices and other vital data, please visit the website of Bansko Blog. Information on prices is also available at Bansko’s official website.

No official announcements have been made yet when Bulgaria’s other two major mountain resorts, Pamporovo and Borovets, will open their 2025/26 ski seasons.
