Another district in Bulgaria declares flu epidemic, suspending in-person classes at schools
Bulgaria’s district of Sliven has declare a flu epidemic, to be in effect from February 3 to 11, the Health Ministry said on January 30.
In addition to standard anti-epidemic measures, in-person learning is also being suspended there and pupils will go over to distance learning.
Schools are also closing in Montana next week, where the epidemic period has been extended until February 7.
In-person classes are already suspended in the districts of Pernik, Plovdiv, and Varna.
Schools are also closed in Vratsa and Haskovo until January 31, when a new assessment will be made whether the measures will be extended.
This is already a fact in Dobrich, where the declared epidemic remains for another week. In Dobrich, time slots are also being introduced for conducting scheduled consultations for healthy pregnant women and children, preventive examinations, mandatory immunizations and re-immunizations. These will be carried out from 8.30am to 10 and from 2pm to 3.30pm.
The same measure has been introduced in Haskovo, and in Plovdiv, days have been set for conducting examinations and consultations for healthy individuals – Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In the districts of Gabrovo, Veliko Turnovo and Dobrich, mandatory wearing of a medical mask in medical institutions has been introduced.
The epidemic declaration in the Blagoevgrad district will expire on January 31.
