Eurostat: Unemployment in Bulgaria in December 2024 was 3.8%

The unemployment rate in Bulgaria in December 2024 was 3.8 per cent, down from 3.9 per cent in November 2024 and from 4.4 per cent in December 2023, European Union statistics agency Eurostat said on January 30, citing seasonally-adjusted data.

The EU unemployment rate was 5.9 per cent in December 2024, up from 5.8 per cent in November 2024 and down from 6.0 per cent in December 2023. 

In December 2024, the euro zone seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate was 6.3 per cent, up from 6.2 per cent in November 2024 and down from 6.5 per cent in December 2023.

Youth unemployment in Bulgaria in December 2024 was 12.8 per cent, up from 12.3 per cent in November 2024 and down from 14 per cent in December 2023.

In December 2024, 2.927 million young people (under 25) were unemployed in the EU, of whom 2.359 million were in the euro zone.

In December 2024, the youth unemployment rate was 15.0 per cent in the EU, down from 15.2 per cent in November 2024, and 14.8 per cent in the euro zone, down from 14.9 per cent in the previous month.
