Bulgaria’s accommodation establishments in July 2026: Arrivals down, but revenue up

The number of arrivals at accommodation establishments in Bulgaria in July 2026 was down by three per cent compared with July 2025, but at the same time, revenue rose by 11.4 per cent, according to figures posted by the National Statistical Institute (NSI) on September 11.

As The Sofia Globe reported previously, the same phenomenon was seen in June 2026: Arrivals down, but revenue up.

The NSI said that in July 2026, total revenue from nights spent added up to 346.4 million euro, of which 237.9 million euro came from non-residents.

Arrivals in July 2026 added up to 1 455 954. Arrivals of non-residents dropped by 5.4 per cent and of residents of Bulgaria by 0.3 per cent.

The total occupancy of bed-places was 53.3 per cent, a drop of 2.5 percentage points compared with July 2025.

The highest occupancy of bed-places was in four- and five-star accommodation establishments – 67.7 per cent, followed by those with three stars – 45.1 per cent, and with one and two stars – 32.3 per cent, the NSI said.
