Bulgaria: Dangerous weather warning for July 16, seven cities 40°C or above

For a fifth consecutive day, every district in Bulgaria is subject to the Code Orange warning of dangerous weather because of high temperatures forecast for July 16, with seven cities facing temperatures of 40°C or above and all other cities set to see daytime highs of 35°C or above.

Bulgaria’s national weather bureau has forecast that on July 16, the maximum temperature in Sandanski and Rousse will be 42 degrees Celsius.

Montana and Pleven are facing a maximum high of 41 deg C on Tuesday and Plovdiv, Veliko Turnovo and Yambol, 40 deg C.

For Blagoevgrad, Silistra and Kurdzhali, the forecast high for July 16 is 39 deg C.

Bulgaria’s capital city Sofia is set for maximum 37 deg C, and at the seaside, the forecast high for Bourgas is 36 deg C and for Varna, 35 deg C.
