Bulgarian railways adds additional couchette car to trains between Sofia and Istanbul
Bulgarian state railways BDZ will provide an additional couchette car to the composition of the Sofia – Istanbul – Sofia international train in the month of April, BDZ said on March 29.
In this way, another travel option will be provided, with which the national railway carrier tries to respond to the great interest in travelling on this train during the coming holidays.
The additional couchette car will run from March 30 to May 1 on select days of the week.
From Sofia to Halkali, the train will run on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and in the opposite direction from Halkali to Sofia, it will travel on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
The international high-speed train from Sofia to Halkali departs from Sofia Central Station at 6.40pm and arrives in Halkali at 6.34am. The train departs from Halkali station at 8pm and arrives in Sofia at 9.20am.
The price of the ticket for an adult in second class is 41.27 leva, and for a seat in the couchette carriage, one-way costs 19.56 leva.
Customers can also book a trip in sleeping cars, as well as enjoy preferences from the ticket price when travelling with children up to 12 years old. More details on prices and timetables can be found at https://www.bdz.bg/bg/a/sofiya-istanbul-sofiya .
Tickets for travel on the international train Sofia – Istanbul – Sofia can be purchased from all ticket offices for issuing international tickets in the country, BDZ said.
