Bulgaria’s Veliko Turnovo faces weekend without water because of supply system failure
The city of Veliko Turnovo in north-central Bulgaria and 14 villages in the region faced a weekend without water on March 10 and 11 because of a failure of the central supply system, the press centre of the Veliko Turnovo municipality said.
Veliko Turnovo has an estimated 90 000 residents.
The affected villages are Samovodene, Momin Sbor, Malki Chiflik, Pchelitshte, Prisovo, Pushevo, Balvan, Ledenik, Shemshevo, Belyakovetz, Vetrintsi, Emen and Novo Selo.
Veliko Turnovo municipality said that there had been a failure of the central water supply system in the village of Prisovo.
The cutoff of water supply would continue until midnight on March 11, the statement said, adding that if possible, supply would be restored earlier than that.
