Bulgarian PM holds talks with counterparts from Belgrade, Skopje

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borissov met with his counterpart from Belgrade, Aleksandar Vučić, and Skopje, Emil Dimitriev, during the annual meeting of heads of government of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and China, the government media service said on November 5.

The major focus of the talks between Borissov and Vučić in Riga were energy and general infrastructure projects.

They discussed the signing of the memorandum of understanding, approved by the Cabinet, on the project for a Bulgaria – Serbia intersystem gas connection.

Borissov emphasised that work construction of the interconnector is in an active phase, and said that he hoped that the project could be finalized.

The interconnector was strategic inrelations between Bulgaria and Serbia, because the issue of energy was crucial for both sides.

“The construction of gas connections, highways and railways between the friendly peoples of the Balkans is a significant step forward towards our common European integration,” Borissov said.
