Macedonia’s Constitutional Court suspends all electoral activities

The Constitutional Court in the Republic of Macedonia decided on May 18 to evaluate whether the decision for the dissolution of Parliament on February 23 was constitutional or not.

Besides this, all electoral activities have been suspended, as according to the electoral deadlines, Monday marked the start of the electoral campaign for the June 5 early elections. VMRO-DPMNE is the only party that decided to participate in these elections, while all other parties boycotted them.

The decision of the Constitutional Court has immediate effect.

Next week, the court will decide on whether to annul or not the June 5 elections.
