Annual Bulgarian Archaeology exhibition opens on February 11 2016

The ninth annual national archaeological exhibition “Bulgarian Archaeology 2015” opens at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences’ National Institute of Archaeology in Sofia on February 11 2016 and continues until April 10.

As is customary, the exhibition presents the results from the previous year’s season of archaeological fieldwork by displaying some of the most interesting finds, along with extensive illustrative material.

The exhibition brings together artefacts from 24 archaeological sites from different era, ranging from Early Prehistory to the Middle Ages. Contributions to the exhibition come from 15 museums of history and archaeology in the country, co-organisers of the event, with finds from their depositories.

The exhibition will be officially opened to the public February 11 at 6 pm in the Temporary Exhibitions Hall of the National Archaeological Museum.
