What’s On: Comedy Fest Sofia 2.0
Comedy Fest Sofia 2.0 opens at Studio 5 at the National Palace of Culture, NDK, on September 27 and continues until October 10.
Among the events is an Open Mic competition, on September 28 at 9.30pm and on October 8 at 7.30pm.
First prize is a bottle of whisky, second prizef ree tickets for the comedy.bg shows for the next month and a comedy.bg T-shirt, and third prize, a comedy.bg T-shirt. To register, [email protected].
Admission is 10 leva, five leva for students.
The festival is to have shows in Bulgarian and in English, with comedians from eight countries apart from Bulgaria – the UK, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Macedonia and Malawi.
In all, there will be 21 shows in 14 days, either at 9.30pm or 7.30pm. Tickets range from 10 to 20 leva, with discounts for students.
One of the stand-up comedy shows in English is Girl Power with Marina Orsag (Croatia) and Jelena Radanovic (Serbia)
Marina Orsag and Jelena Radanovic are two of the best Eastern European comedians. They have starred in over 100 episodes of stand-up comedy on Comedy Central Extra and in numerous Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian TV shows.
“Marina Orsag took part in the First Comedy Festival Sofia and now she is coming back for Comedy Fest Sofia 2.0 to bring even more laughs to her Bulgarian fans. Known for her controversial humor and respected for her active social position, Marina is one of the most prominent comedians on the Balkans,” organisers of the Comedy Fest said.
Jelena Radanovic is the Serbian star of Comedy Fest 2.0 and Marina Orsag’s long-lasting stage partner and friend. Jelena has taken part at almost all comedy festivals in Eastern Europe and she is well-known to Comedy Central fans. Her jokes are often described as spicy and witty and Jelena can make you laugh no matter what your mood is.
The Girl Power show is on September 29 at 7.30pm and 9.30pm. Entrance: 15 leva.
