‘Dramatic’ situation with refugees in Serbia
After huge crowds during the weekend, the reception centre for migrants in Presevo, near the border between Serbia and Macedonia, was empty this morning. In the camp in Miratovac village there were still about 1500 people. Last night 70 buses with Middle Eastern refugees arrived in Belgrade. The Serbian Commissariat for refugees expects assistance from the international organisations.
On Sunday night more than 7000 refugees entered Serbia from Macedonia, UNHCR figures show. The International Red Cross Federation expects a “dramatic increase” in the number of refugees.
This morning there were no migrants in Presevo, but 1500 refugees from Miratovac were to arrive in the town later today, according to correspondents.
