What’s On: Exhibition ‘Nude – Sculptures and Drawings from the Sofia City Art Gallery Collection’ opens on June 17

An exhibition entitled “Nude”, of sculptures and drawings from the Sofia City Art Gallery collection, opens on June 17 2015 and continues until July 12.

The exhibition is being held to mark the 110th anniversary of the birth of well-known Bulgarian sculptor Vaska Emanouilova and is a sequel to a similarly-themed exhibition hosted by the gallery in 1999.

11-29

Works by Emanouilova will be on display, along with work by Lyubomir Dalchev (1902 – 2002), Spartak Dermendzhiev (born 1954), Stavri Kalinov (born 1944), Tomas Kochev (1940 – 1997), Galin Malakchiev (1931 – 1987) and Emil Popov (born 1951).

The gallery said that, “as a kind of counterpoint and at the same time as a parallel and enriching story”, also on display would be drawings by Gredi Assa, Marko Behar, Svilen Blazhev and Georgi “Pavleto” Pavlov.
