What’s On: Massive Attack in Sofia on June 5

Three years after their last show in Bulgaria, Britain’s Massive Attack will play at Sofia’s Winter Palace on June 5, the first in a series of gigs sprinkled through the summer months, organisers EventEase said.

That will give Bulgarian fans – and those from neighbouring countries, seeing as the Sofia concert is the only one on the Balkans scheduled so far (although there will also be a concert in Istanbul on June 7) – the first peek at the Bristol duo’s new concert show.

Massive Attack’s Robert “3D” Del Naja and Grant “Daddy G” Marshall are known for their political activism and criticism of government policies worldwide and the band’s new show is expected to touch on those same themes, although details are understandably being kept under wraps, EventEase said.

Tickets are priced between 50 leva and 100 leva and can be bought online at ticketportal.bg, the National Palace of Culture (NDK) ticket booths and partner stores (Booktrading and Office 1 chains). Organisers said that given the Winter Palace’s limited space, fans are advised to purchase a ticket well in advance.
