Bulgaria’s Defence Ministry: Helicopters to take part in multinational exercise Thracian Blade 2026

Helicopters from allied and partner countries will be re-based from June 1 to 3 at the 24th Air Base in Krumovo to participate in the multinational flight exercise Thracian Blade 2026, the Defence Ministry said.

Over three weeks, until June 19 2026, under the leadership of the Bulgarian Air Force, Bulgarian and foreign crews will perform training missions on the territory and in the airspace of the Republic of Bulgaria.

Some of the flights will be at low and extremely low altitudes and using training tactical and firing ranges in the country.

The exercise is organised in strict compliance with the designated routes, minimum altitudes and safety measures, in accordance with the documents and manuals regulating flights with military aircraft on the territory of Bulgaria, the Defence Ministry said.
