November 15 deadline for vehicles to have tyres suitable for winter conditions looms
From November 15 to March 1, motor vehicles in Bulgaria must by law be fitted with tyres suitable for winter conditions.
According to the law, approved by Parliament in 2016, cars must have tyres designed for winter conditions or that have a tread depth of no less than or equal to four millimetres, the Interior Ministry said.
Bulgaria’s Interior Ministry began on November 11 the second phase of its traditional Operation Winter, focused on the behaviour of pedestrians.
The first 10 days of the operation had focused on cyclists, electric vehicles and animal-drawn vehicles, the ministry said.
The third phase, to start on November 21, will focus on motorists, it said.
