New passenger car registrations in Bulgaria in January-July 2024 up 28.4% y/y
There were 26 945 new passenger car registrations in Bulgaria in January-July 2024, an increase of 28.4 per cent compared with January-July 2023, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association, ACEA, said on August 29.
Of the new passenger car registrations in Bulgaria in January-July 2024, a total of 15 803 were petrol cars, 4310 diesel, 1022 battery-electric, 545 hybrid-electric and 288 plug-in hybrid.
In July 2024, new EU car registrations saw a modest increase (+0.2 per cent) with mixed results across the region’s four major markets: Italy (+4.7 per cent) and Spain (+3.4 per cent) recorded moderate gains, while the French (-2.3 per cent) and German (-2.1 per cent) markets experienced declines.
Seven months into 2024, new car registrations increased by 3.9 per cent, reaching more than 6.5 million units. This is the result of a low comparison base, ACEA said.
The bloc’s largest markets all showed positive but modest performance, with Spain (+5.6 per cent), Italy (+5.2 per cent), Germany (+4.3 per cent), and France (+2.2 per cent) all recording growth.
