Macedonia’s former PM Gruevski faces new criminal charges

The Republic of Macedonia’s former PM, Nikola Gruevski, who has fled to Hungary, is now facing two new charges. According to the Special Prosecution, the first charge relates to  the illegal funding of his party, VMRO-DPMNE. It is alleged that VMRO-DPMNE has benefited millions of euro from different businesses.

Meanwhile, the second charge relates to the illegal construction of the party’s headquarters. In this case, Gruevski is under investigation along with his two collaborators, Mile Janakievski (former minister of transport) and former secretary of VMRO-DPMNE, Cyril Bozinovski.
