Bulgaria, Albania sign deal on European integration co-operation
Bulgaria and Albania signed on May 17 a memorandum on co-operation on European integration, Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry said.
The agreement was signed in Sofia by Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov and his Albanian counterpart Ditmir Bushati, who is visiting Bulgaria.
Mitov said that the signing of the memorandum meant new impetus for relations between Bulgaria and Albania.
“Our country will always be ready to share our experience with our partners from Albania to help them in the difficult path of reforms towards EU membership,” Mitov said.
“Achieving stability in the region has always been of great importance for Bulgaria. It passes through European and Atlantic integration of the countries, as we have repeatedly stated that the EU would not be complete without the Western Balkans,” he said.
