Senior managers of Polish public television resign over new public media law

Five directors at Poland’s public broadcaster TVP have filed their resignations in reference to the recent adoption of new media legislation, passed by the Senate upper house on Thursday, the portal wirtulanemedia.pl reported.

Among those who resigned are the heads of the channels TVP1 Piotr Radziszewski, TVP2 Jerzy Kapuściński, TVP Kultura Katarzyna Janowska, the director of the Television Information Agency Tomasz Sygut and the human resource department of the TVP group Ewa Ger. The director-general at TVP Janusz Daszczyński reportedly accepted the notices.
