Polish PM Kopacz to face off opposition PM candidate Szydlo in televised pre-election debate

Major Polish TV broadcasters public TVP as well as private Polsat and TVN have agreed to hold two debates ahead of Poland’s October 25 parliamentary election. Prime Minister Ewa Kopacz and her rival Beata Szydlo, PM candidate of the opposition party Law and Justice (PiS), will hold a one-on-one debate on October 18.

The debate, organised by the public TV broadcaster TVP and the private TV stations TVN and Polsat, between representatives of all eight electoral committees running in the upcoming election has already been arranged for October 20.
