Annual Service of Remembrance to be held in Sofia on November 9
The annual Service of Remembrance, commemorating all those who have died as a result of war, will take place on November 9 2014 at Sofia Central Cemetery and on November 11 in Plovdiv.
The November 9 service in Sofia will start promptly at 10.50am at the British Military Cemetery to be followed by services at the French, German and Italian military cemeteries.
In Sofia, UK, Ireland, Germany, France and Italy remember the fallen at a joint ceremony.
The Service of Remembrance in Plovdiv on November 11 is at 11am at the British Military Cemetery in Plovdiv Cemetery. In Plovdiv, the ceremony is jointly organised by the United Kingdom and Ireland.
Poppies are on sale at the British Embassy Sofia, British Council Bulgaria, Sofia Central Cemetery, Plovdiv Cemetery and Anglo American School in Sofia. All donations go to the Royal British Legion to help ex-servicemen.
