Bulgaria to open honorary consulate in Stuttgart
Bulgaria’s caretaker cabinet on March 28 2013 approved a decision to open an honorary consulate headquartered in Stuttgart with a consular district covering the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The honorary consul will be Till Truckenmüller, a German citizen, Bulgaria’s government media office said.
Truckenmüller has 20 years experience as a consultant and manager in international companies and medium-sized German companies. He has worked in Central and Eastern Europe, including Poland, Lithuania, Hungary and Czech Republic. His company is represented in Bulgaria’s capital city Sofia, offering consulting services in the areas of enterprise restructuring. Thanks to his professional activities, he has an extensive network of contacts in the economic, financial and political circles of Baden-Württemberg and at federal level, the government media office said.
Baden-Württemberg is one of the most important and promising partners for Bulgaria among the German Länder. With a population of 10.75 million, it ranks among the four major German federal states with which country has the most active connections. In economic, scientific and technological Baden-Württemberg is one of the most highly developed European regions. There are about 5000 Bulgarians resident in the state, with about 1500 Bulgarian students.
