Jazz under the stars on the Devetashko Plateau being held from June 26 – 28

The Jazz under the stars on the Devetashko Plateau event is being held from June 26 to 28 2026 in the village of Karpachevo, about 187km from Bulgaria’s capital city Sofia.

The event, organised by the Devetashko Plateau Association, will offer a rich musical programme featuring more than 20 Bulgarian and foreign jazz musicians.

The programme begins at 8pm on June 26 at Ongul in Karpachevo with the Portela and Terziev Quintet (Spain/ Bulgaria), followed immediately by Acoustic Version, featuring Antoni Donchev (piano), Hristo Yotsov (percussion) and Kalina Andreeva (double bass). At 11pm, a jam session begins.

On June 27, at the Old Mill in Karpachevo, the programme begins at 7.30pm with the Dixieland March with Ventsi Blagoev, and virtuoso Swedish pianist Joel Lyssarides and bouzoki master Georgio Prokopiou (Sweden/ Greece), followed by the Big Band Sofia Jazz Collective, and another jam session at 11pm.

The festival closes on June 28 at 11am at Ongul with the Jazz for Children project, winner of the prestigious Crystal Lyre Award for contribution to Bulgarian culture.
