Districts in eastern Bulgaria face weather warnings over forecast strong winds
Bulgaria’s national weather bureau has issued the Code Orange warning of hazardous weather for several districts for September 30 because of forecast strong winds.
The districts subject to the Code Orange warning are Varna, Dobrich, Shoumen, Turgovishte, Razgrad and Silistra.
The lesser Code Yellow warning of potentially hazardous weather has been issued for a number of districts for Monday, also because of forecast strong winds.
The districts subject to the Code Yellow warning are Bourgas, Yambol, Sliven, Stara Zagora, Veliko Turnovo, Gabrovo and Rousse.
The remaining districts of Bulgaria are classified Code Green on September 30, meaning that no weather warning is in place.
The national weather bureau said that rain showers in the eastern part of the country on September 30 will stop in the evening.
Maximum temperatures will range from 11 to 13 degrees Celsius in north-eastern Bulgaria to 17 to 19 degrees Celsius in western Bulgaria and the Upper Thracian lowland.
In Bulgaria’s capital city Sofia, the maximum temperature will be about 13 degrees Celsius.
In the mountains it will be mostly cloudy, windy and with rain showers, with snowfall above about 1900 metres.
Along the Black Sea it will be cloudy, windy and rainy.
