NSI: Visits to Bulgaria for holidays in July 2024 up 8.6% y/y
The number of visits to Bulgaria by non-residents in July 2024 was 8.6 per cent higher than in July 2023, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on August 28.
Overall, the number of visits by non-residents to Bulgaria was 3.4 per cent higher than in July 2023, the NSI said.
Business trips were up by one per cent.
Visits by citizens of other European Union countries accounted for just more than half of all visits by non-residents to Bulgaria.
Among EU countries, the largest number of visitors were from Romania, 28.6 per cent, followed by Germany 17.1 per cent and Poland 10 per cent.
Overall, the highest registered number of visits was from Türkiye, followed by Romania, Ukraine, Germany, Poland, Serbia, Greece, Czechia, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands, the NSI said.
