Trips to Bulgaria by non-residents in June 2024 up 5.8% y/y

In June 2024, the number of visits by non-residents to Bulgaria added up to 1 472 911, an increase of 5.8 per cent compared with June 2023, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on July 29.

Of the total, 786 477 were for holidays, 120 691 for professional reasons, and 565 743 for “other” reasons, the NSI said.

The number of visits by non-residents to Bulgaria for holidays was up by 11.2 per cent compared with June 2023.

Most visits to Bulgaria, with the figure for holiday visits in brackets, were from Romania 221 495 (137 130), Ukraine 215 783 (136 094) and Türkiye 200 014 (54 021).

This was followed by Germany 121 787 (45 652), Greece 89 954 (35 581), Poland 85 720 (65 139), Serbia 67 742 (27 249), the United Kingdom 49 730 (44 337), Czechia 38 541 (35 580) and the Republic of North Macedonia 27 046 (17 509), the NSI said.
