Bulgaria names Kristian Kostov as its contestant in Eurovision 2017 in Kyiv
Bulgarian young pop star and X Factor finalist Kristian Kostov is to represent the country at the Eurovision song contest 2017 in Ukraine’s capital city Kyiv in May, public broadcaster Bulgarian National Television said on March 13.
He will compete on behalf of Bulgaria in the second semi-final of the 2017 Eurovision song contest, which starts at 10pm on May 11.
Kostov, who turns 17 on March 15, will be competing for the votes of viewers and juries from 21 countries: Ukraine, France, Germany, Switzerland, Macedonia, Estonia, Israel, Malta, the Netherlands, Serbia, Denmark, Russia, Romania, San Marino, Lithuania, Croatia, Norway, Belarus, Hungary, Austria and Ireland.
His song is titled “Beautiful Mess” and will debut on March 13 at 6pm on the official channel on YouTube and the Eurovision site, eurovision.tv.
The artist, who is represented by Virginia Records, saw his debut single Not For Me top the Bulgarian charts for two weeks, while he appeared on a track by Pavell & Venci Venc’ which was top of the charts for 14 consecutive weeks.
