What’s on: Whiskey Fest Sofia 2013
For a second year running, Bulgarian capital city Sofia is set to host a whisky and whiskey exhibition and tasting event – a distinction the organisers appear to be fully aware of, with separate halls in Sofia’s Sheraton Hotel dedicated to Scotch whiskies and, on the other side, Irish and American whiskeys (with a dash of exotic malts from Japan and even Taiwan thrown in).
Unlike last year, the festival is expanded to three days – November 1 (from 5pm to 11pm) through November 3 (from 2pm to 10pm). In total, visitors will have the opportunity to see more than 20 stands showcasing more than 50 brands and a specialised bar and shop.
Master classes for enthusiasts have also been scheduled, with tickets available at the entrance, but also online from eventim.bg. Tickets range from 10 leva (entrance only) to 15 leva (entrance and tasting of three different spirits) to 20 leva (entrance and tasting of three premium spirits). Tickets for master classes cost 50 leva and 195 leva (for four master classes).
