Macedonian president Gjorge Ivanov said on February 10 that state authorities had prevented the entry of thousands of illegal refugees crossing the border. According to him, this was prevented by setting up barbed wire fences.
“The setting up of fences has prevented almost 19 000 illegal refugees from entering the country on illegal routes. Now we’re carrying out the second stage of the fence, which will also prevent refugees from crossing,” Ivanov said during a visit to the border crossing point with Greece.
