Greek parliament approved 2016 budget
Although some analysts doubted that Greece’s 2016 budget would pass without “losses” (it was expected that some MPs of the coalition would not support it), it finally got the approval of 153 MPs, that is with all the votes of SYRIZA and ANEL coalition. MP Nikos Nikolopoulos who was elected with ANEL but became independent 20 days ago and was ousted by his party, was absent –so he neither supported nor voted against the budget.
The vote concluded late, at around 1.30 a.m. on Sunday following five days of debate.
