Ice-skating rinks to open in Sofia and Plovdiv
As has become traditional in recent years, Bulgaria’s capital city Sofia will again offer ice-skaters the chance to take a whirl on what is boasted to be the largest ice-skating rink in the Balkans.
The ice-skating rink at Ariana Lake will open on December 5 2015, with a ceremony at 5pm at which mayor Yordanka Fandukova will be the guest of honour.
The 1400 sq m rink in Borissova Gradina will be open 24 hours a day. Admission will cost five leva and rental of skates will cost four leva. There will be 400 pairs of ice skates for rent.
The rink will be open until the end of March 2016.
Bulgaria’s second city Plovdiv also will again have an ice rink, with the municipality expected to finalise negotiations with a private company by the end of this week, local media said.
The 600 sq m rink will be in front of the Military Club in Plovdiv.
