What’s On: Mussorgsky’s opera Boris Godunov on an open-air stage outside Sofia’s Alexander Nevsky cathedral

Sofia Opera and Ballet is to present Modest Mussorgsky’s opera Boris Godunov on an open-air stage next to Sofia’s Alexander Nevsky cathedral on June 27, 28 and 29 – the open-air aspect being an exciting first for Bulgaria’s capital city.

The spectacular project is a new idea by director Plamen Kartaloff with the participation of the soloists, the orchestra, the chorus, the production and technical services of Sofia Opera. A special large stage is being built at the site and there will be seating for an audience of 1400.
