Greek parliament removes immunity of leading Golden Dawn trio
By an overwhelming majority in a vote on June 4, Greek MPs approved the lifting of immunity of Golden Dawn leader Nikos Michaloliakos and MPs Christos Pappas and Yannis Lagos.
Immunity was lifted for Nikos Michaloliakos, Yannis Lagos, and Christos Pappas with 223 votes in favour, and one MP voting present.
All three Golden Dawn MPs already faced charges of forming a criminal ring. On Wednesday, additional charges were brought against the trio. Michaloliakos and Lagos were charged with illegal bearing of arms while Pappas – the party’s number two – was charged of creating an illegal archive as Nazi literature was found in his home by police.
