Bulgarian anti-mafia and computer crime police have pressed charges against a 33-year-old actor after raiding his home in an investigation into copyright violations involving illegal uploads of Bulgarian movies on a popular video sharing website.

The action was taken to prevent illegal showing of the film Лора от сутрин до вечер (Laura from morning to evening) on the website vbox7.com, the Interior Ministry said.

Police seized a computer at the home of the actor. The actor is said to be one of the most active users of the site and the copyrights of other Bulgarian productions had been violated, the ministry said.

The Interior Ministry said that the action was the latest in a series to implement a national strategy to limit internet piracy.
