Arrivals of non-residents for holidays in Bulgaria in August 2026 down 3.9% y/y
There were a total of 1 153 036 arrivals of non-residents for holidays in Bulgaria in August 2026, a decrease of 3.9 per cent compared with August 2025, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on September 29, citing preliminary data.
This followed a downturn in arrivals in July 2026 of close to three per cent on an annual basis.
Of the total arrivals of non-residents in August 2026, 798 432 were from other European Union countries.
Overall, the largest numbers of arrivals were from Romania (330 602), Ukraine (93 416), and Poland (87 693).
Other significant numbers included Czechia (62 767), Türkiye (48 787), Serbia (46 821), the United Kingdom (44 543), Israel (41 716), Greece (36 614), and North Macedonia (28 438).
Arrivals from Russia added up to a mere 3964, according to the NSI.
