Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry warns of air, rail strikes in Italy

Bulgaria’s Foreign Ministry issued an advisory on November 13 about forthcoming air and rail strikes in Italy.

On November 14, a national strike in Italy’s air transport sector will cover the activities of the staff of the airlines ENAV, easyJet Italy and Volоtea.

ENAV staff – from 1pm to 5pm; EasyJet Italy crews – from 1pm to 5pm; and Volotea staff – for a period of 24 hours.

A protest by students is also planned for November 14 2025 in Italy, the Foreign Ministry said.

An eight-hour strike in the railway sector has been announced for November 16 2025 in the Lombardy region, which will affect the movement of trains of the railway company Trenord between 10am and 6pm.

The ministry said that the strike action in Italy from November 14 to 16 is likely to lead to difficulties in air and ground transport throughout the country and in particular (especially on November 16) the Lombardy region.

Due to the expected delays and cancellations of flights, rail transport and public transport lines, the ministry recommends that Bulgarian citizens residing in Italy for a short or long term to check in advance the current information published by the relevant carriers on their websites.
