Defence Ministry: Participants in Nato exercise to transit Bulgaria

From February 22 until March 20, participants in the Nato Steadfast Dart 2025 exercise will be relocated from the areas where the exercise was held to their permanent bases, Bulgaria’s Defence Ministry said on February 21.

Movement of personnel and military equipment will be carried out along Bulgaria’s national roads and railways from Romania towards Greece and Türkiye. Air transport will also be used.

The Nato exercise Steadfast Dart 2025 was held in Bulgaria, Greece and Romania and was attended by more than 10 000 military personnel and military equipment from nine Allied countries – Bulgaria, France, Greece, Italy, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Türkiye and the United Kingdom.

The military convoys will be escorted by teams of the Military Police service.

On February 24 and 25, there will be a movement of personnel and military equipment along Bulgaria’s national road network in connection with the deployment of a Bulgarian contingent to perform tasks as part of the Nato Stabilization Force in Kosovo (KFOR).

The columns will move along the route Haskovo – Sofia – Gyueshevo border checkpoint. The movement is in connection with the rotation of the mechanized company as part of the Bulgarian contingent in KFOR.
