Bulgarian Archaeology annual exhibition opens on February 15
An exhibition entitled Bulgarian Archaeology 2024 opens at the National Archaeology Museum in capital city Sofia on February 15 and continues until June 8 2025.
The exhibition, featuring more than 500 exhibits, is being held by the Bulgarian Academy of Science’s National Archaeological Institute in co-operation with 19 museums in Bulgaria.
The exhibition and the catalogue present the most interesting and impressive discoveries and investigations from the 2024 archaeological season.
A total of 32 sites are included, illustrating the development of cultures in present-day Bulgaria from the Neolithic until the Late Mediaeval period.
Among the artefacts on display are gold, silver and bronze adornments, fine ceramic anthropomorphic figurines, pottery vessels, head of a marble statue, marble votive reliefs and bronze statuettes, glass vessels, tools and weapons, coins, and many other items.
