Arrivals of visitors from abroad for holidays in Bulgaria up 20% y/y in December 2024
The number of visits to Bulgaria by non-residents for holidays in December 2024 was 20 per cent higher than in December 2023, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on January 28.
The number of visits for holidays in Bulgaria in December 2024 added up to 273 694, the NSI said.
Of this sum, 125 443 were from non-EU countries, 123 692 from other EU countries and 12 160 from countries elsewhere in the world.
By country, the largest number of arrivals in this country for holidays in the last month of 2024 was from Türkiye, 47 630, followed by Greece, 38 392, and Romania, 36 807.
These were followed by arrivals from North Macedonia, 24 843, Serbia, 20 350, Ukraine, 17 528, the United Kingdom, 11 930, Italy, 10 492, and Germany, 10 144.
The NSI said that in December 2024, the total number of visits by non-residents to Bulgaria was 6.1 per cent higher than in December 2023.
