Bulgaria’s April early elections: Poll sees five-group Parliament
Among those who intend to vote in Bulgaria’s April 2 2023 early parliamentary elections, the We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria electoral coalition has 20.9 per cent support and Boiko Borissov’s GERB-UDF coalition 20.4 per cent, according to a poll by the Market Links agency, the results of which were released on March 7.
However, GERB-UDF had potential for growth by the time the elections are held, the polling agency said.
In third place was the Movement for Rights and Freedoms with 13.3 per cent and in fourth, pro-Russian party Vuzrazhdane with 11.8 per cent, with the pollsters saying that Vuzrazhdane also had potential for growth.
Kornelia Ninova’s party has 6.6 per cent support, which would make it the smallest group in the 49th National Assembly.
Below the four per cent threshold for a share of seats in the next Parliament are Stefan Yanev’s party Bulgaria Ascending (2.4 per cent), electoral coalition The Left (2.3 per cent) and Slavi Trifonov’s ITN party (2.3 per cent).
The poll was done among 1080 Bulgarian citizens above the age of 18, from February 18 to 27. It was done using direct interviews and online polling, and was financed by Market Links and bTV.
