Poland: New prime minister soon?

Ruling party Law and Justice (PiS) leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski will practically certainly replace Beata Szydlo as PM, Polska The Times newspaper writes citing numerous party insiders. The only thing holding Kaczynski back are the relations with President Andrzej Duda as he wants to make sure they reach a compromise to assure good relations in the future.

Duda reportedly requires the dismissal of Defense Minister Antoni Macierewicz with party insiders admitting that Macierewicz’s position has never been so weak. Even his ties to the head of influential catholic radio station Radio Maryja, Tadeusz Rydzyk, are unlikely to help him save his job, the sources say.
