Remembrance Sunday 2016 in Sofia: ‘We will remember them’

Diplomats, former servicemen, senior Bulgarian officers and foreign military attaches as well as members of the expatriate community took part in the annual Remembrance Sunday service at the military graves section of Sofia Central Cemetery on November 13 2016.

As is customary, the honouring of the memory of those who died in the wars of the 20th century began at the Commonwealth War Graves section, and then proceeded to the German, Italian and French military cemeteries.

As a mark of the modern era, both allies and former foes paid their respects at each other’s sections of the cemeteries, joined by ambassadors of a number of other states.
