Polish women continue ‘black protests’ over stricter abortion law

Hundreds of Polish women dressed in black, on Monday, launched another round of protests in more than 50 Polish cities against tightening the country’s already restrictive abortion law.

Protesters say that more restrictions on abortion would drive the practice further underground.

The demonstrations started already on Sunday when activists started gathered signatures under a petition to the government and parliament demanding, among others, full access to birth control, action to tackle violence and harassment.
